A windowed Green function method for elastic scattering problems on a half-space

چکیده

This paper presents a windowed Green function (WGF) method for the numerical solution of problems elastic scattering by "locally-rough surfaces" (i.e., local perturbations half space), under either Dirichlet or Neumann boundary conditions, and in both two three spatial dimensions. The proposed WGF relies on an integral-equation formulation based free-space function, together with smooth operator windowing (based "slow-rise" function) efficient high-order singular-integration methods. approach avoids evaluation expensive layer half-space, it yields uniformly fast convergence all incident angles. Numerical experiments dimensional are presented, demonstrating accuracy super-algebraically as window-size grows.

Windowed Green Function Method for Layered-Media Scattering

This paper introduces a new Windowed Green Function (WGF) method for the numerical integral-equation solution of problems of electromagnetic scattering by obstacles in presence of dielectric or conducting half-planes. The WGF method, which is based on use of smooth windowing functions and integral kernels that can be expressed directly in terms of the free-space Green function, does not require...

On Green s function for a bimaterial elastic half-plane

The problem of a point force acting in a composite, two-dimensional, isotropic elastic half-plane is considered. An exact solution is obtained, using Mellin transforms and the Melan solution for a point force in a homogeneous halfplane. 2002 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.

A Method of Function Space for Vertical Impedance Function of a Circular Rigid Foundation on a Transversely Isotropic Ground

This paper is concerned with investigation of vertical impedance function of a surface rigid circular foundation resting on a semi-infinite transversely isotropic alluvium. To this end, the equations of motion in cylindrical coordinate system, which because of axissymmetry are two coupled equations, are converted into one partial differential equation using a method of potential function. The g...

The solution of elasticity problems for the half-space by the method of Green and Collins

The paper reviews the method of complex potential functions developed by Green and Collins as applied to axisymmetric mixed boundary value problems in elasticity for the half-space. It is shown how the method can be applied to problems in several coupled potential functions such as adhesive and frictional contact problems, to problems involving annular regions and to problems in thermoelasticit...

Effect of Rotation and Stiffness on Surface Wave Propagation in a Elastic Layer Lying Over a Generalized Thermodiffusive Elastic Half-Space with Imperfect Boundary

The present investigation is to study the surface waves propagation with imperfect boundary between an isotropic elastic layer of finite thickness and a homogenous isotropic thermodiffusive elastic half- space with rotation in the context of Green-Lindsay (G-L model) theory. The secular equation for surface waves in compact form is derived after developing the mathematical model. The phase velo...
